Our

Love Story

Contrary to popular belief, our love story did not begin at a Smashmouth concert. Though, that certainly didn't hurt. No, it all started way back in 2018 when a new office manager named Caitlyn joined the EatStreet team. Suddenly Jeremy, EatStreet's graphic designer for 5 years by this point, became uncharacteristically interested in attending and volunteering for company events.

When Caitlyn joined the marketing team, Jeremy was even helpful enough to secure the perfect desk for her. It just so happened to be right across from his. Now working together closer than ever, Jeremy began wowing Caitlyn with his incredible design skills and ability to not say a single word during team meetings. In turn, Caitlyn impressed Jeremy with her knack for speaking intelligently and authoritatively about nearly any subject and with her liberal use of vacation days.

Though Jeremy is the strong, silent type, Caitlyn got him to open up to her. As the two got to know each other better, the spark was undeniable. They began dating that summer, though Caitlyn had a busy summer of traveling to weddings, bachelorette parties, and other trips and with each weekend apart, she missed Jeremy more and more and knew her feelings were getting serious.

After a summer of keeping our relationship under wraps, we debuted as EatStreet's newest power couple in the fall of 2019. When the pandemic hit, we managed to survive working fully remote together in the same apartment, on the same team, often in the same meetings for 20 months. We figured if we could get through that, marriage would be a cake walk.

We rounded out 2021 with two new jobs; Caitlyn at a marketing agency and Jeremy at Chess.com, though we'll never rule out the possibility of being coworkers again.

In March 2022, Caitlyn was stressing over her looming 31st birthday, wondering when Jeremy would pop the question. After really putting above and beyond effort into getting ready for date nights for a few weeks to no avail, Caitlyn thought absolutely nothing of Jeremy suggesting a Sunday afternoon stroll in our former neighborhood. Which is honestly a huge oversight because this goes down as the only time in history that Jeremy, unprompted, suggested we go for a walk. After walking along the beach at James Madison Park, where our love story began, we came around the corner to flowers set up at the park shelter and that's where Jeremy got down on one knee. There were tears, Jeremy said some stuff I'm sure is really sincere but I blacked it out, and our friends Leslie, Craig and Lauren popped out to congratulate us. Jeremy suggested we go get a celebratory drink at the classic neighborhood dive, the Caribou Tavern, and when we walked in the door we were greeted by a slew of our loved ones, all there to share in the excitement of the moment.

Flash forward to today, we're 6 months from our bangin' New Year's Eve celebration, 6 weeks from moving into our first home together in Fitchburg, and thrilled to have all our family and friends celebrate the next chapter in our love story with us.
